Our Story

Indalo Cigars was never something I set out to create. It grew naturally from my family's work in the Dominican Republic, my dad's love of cigars, and a desire to build something that could make a difference.

My father, Dr. David Addison, founded 7elements, an organization dedicated to sustainable development and humanitarian work in the Dominican Republic. Through 7elements, our family has spent years working alongside Dominican communities on projects involving healthcare, clean water, education, housing, and community development.

And somewhere along the way, cigars became part of the story.

My dad is an avid cigar smoker—and when I say avid, I mean it. He can easily smoke 10 cigars a day. Spending so much time in the Dominican Republic put us right in the heart of some of the world's best tobacco-growing regions, and eventually we started asking: Why aren't we making our own?

That question became Indalo Cigars.

We began working directly with local tobacco growers and a small Dominican factory to develop cigars we genuinely wanted to smoke. We use Cuban-seed tobacco grown in the Dominican Republic, carefully selecting and aging our tobacco before our cigars are handcrafted by our dedicated roller.

But Indalo has always been about more than cigars.

During COVID, when humanitarian organizations around the world were struggling, cigar sales helped support the people and work behind 7elements. That experience shaped what I want Indalo to represent today—a boutique cigar company with a connection to the country and communities that make our cigars possible.

For me, every box of Indalo represents two things I care deeply about: an incredible Dominican cigar and the opportunity to do something meaningful with the business we're building.
